De Bounty vaart van Groot Britannie naar Tahiti om planten op te halen. De kapitein is een wrede tiran die de orde met harde hand handhaaft. Nadat ze 6 maanden op het paradijselijke Tahiti zijn verbleven gaat de Bounty weer terug. Op de terugweg wordt de harde aapak van de kapitein de bemanning te veel en volgt er muiterij.
